The Great Britain Gambling Commission has ordered Done Bros, trading as Betfred, to pay £3.25m (€3.78m/$4.25m) for social responsibility and anti-money laundering (AML) failures.

The operator will make the payment in lieu of a financial penalty and as part of a regulatory settlement with the Commission.

A Commission-led investigation and subsequent regulatory review uncovered a series of failings at Betfred, which runs 1,750 betting shops as well as online gambling.

Failings included the implementation of AML policies, procedures and controls, as well as deficiencies in social responsibility policies, procedures, controls and practices.

More to follow.
